Ouch!
My tongue hurts really bad.
I’ve been biting it for weeks.
Really hard.
I mean, I really have to clamp down on it.
I nearly bit clean through it a couple weeks ago when Sara Palin arrived on the scene.
See, it’s an election year. I’m fascinated by American politics. I have some pretty strong opinions. I would love nothing more than to sit here and outline every last one of them for you.
In great detail.
And try to sway you to my point of view.
However, I realize that you don’t really care who I think should be president. That’s not what my blog is about. I’m not an expert, and don’t want to pretend to be. It’s a far too divisive subject, and I don’t want to have an in box full of comments telling me how wrong I am.
In fact, when I loosened my tongue just a little the other day, and let it slip that I am a fan of Sara Palin and a conservative, I’m pretty sure I lost five subscribers. Really? You don’t want to read my cookie recipes because I lean a little to the right?
Wack!
Stop that! Stop that right now!
I had to slap myself. I was about to launch into a tirade. The exact kind I’m trying to avoid.
See what I mean?
It’s so hard. So very, very hard for me to keep quiet on this subject.
I am not going to see John McCain and Palin on Wednesday as reported earlier. It turns out the tickets I was told were available are not. That should come as a relief to you more liberal readers out there. You will not be subjected to photos of his campaign rally, for now. I’m sure he’ll be back. I will get my hands on some tickets.
Oh, shoot! There went five more subscribers.
Aren’t there any other conservatives out there in the blog-o-sphere?
O.K. I’m going to stop before I lose all of you.
I’ll try really hard not to mention politics any more. But if you should click through one day to find that I posted my dissertation on the American political landscape, I’m sorry. I must have lost the grip on my tongue. Just skip it and scroll down to the cookie recipe.
