25 Days of Merry

December 1, 2009 · 1 comment

I saw trees, lights and decorations go up earlier than ever this year. Some of you started listening to Christmas music the day after Halloween. I’ve been chomping at the bit myself to start celebrating the Yuletide.

What’s going on?

I think it’s because we all really Need A Little Christmas more this year than ever. It’s been a rough one with all the lousy news about the economy, swine flu and everything else. We just want to forget all about that for a little while and get our Joy, Peace and Hope on.

I’m even more determined to make this one a great Christmas, because last year was kind of a bummer here. I was pregnant and so sick and miserable, I just couldn’t get into the spirit. The only festive thing I managed was the tree, and I don’t think that even went up until a week before the big day.

This year we’re celebrating all month long by doing something Christmasy here in the Mommie Daze household every day for the next 25 days starting today, December 1st.

It might be something big like visiting an old fashioned Christmas village, or something small like reading a favorite Christmas story. Just as long as it’s Merry and Bright.

I invite you to come follow along with the 25 Days of Merry here on Mommie Daze as we count down to Christmas. And maybe you’d like to join in and plan your own daily Christmas fun. I’d love to hear about it if you do.

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas Now!
