Calorie Tracking Chart – Free Printable

I have a free printable calorie tracking chart for you today. But first I want to tell you the two big secrets to losing weight. It’s a special perk just for Mommie Daze readers. No one else will tell you this.

Come close. I’m going to whisper it in your ear.

Eat less. Exercise more.

I know! Right? Who would have thought!

In 2011 I managed to lose 10 pounds. (Assuming I didn’t gain it all back from eating Christmas cookies this month. I’m a little afraid to step on the scale.) I did it by counting calories and being more active. I tried other methods for losing weight:  Weight Watchers, Slimfast, Low Carb. The only one that ever worked for me was eating less and moving more.

My goal for 2012 is to lose more weight. How much? Well, that number is between me and me, but it’s more than 10 pounds.

I don’t make New Year’s Resolutions. By definition to resolve means to firmly decide something.

“I firmly decide that I want to lose weight.

Who hasn’t decided that? Deciding or resolving doesn’t really denote action, but setting a goal to work toward does. So I set New Year’s Goals.

To reach my goal I need a way to keep track of my calories and physical activity. I’ve tried phone apps and online calorie charts to track food and exercise, but nothing is as effective as writing it down on good old-fashioned paper and hanging it on the fridge. So I created my own printable daily chart to record food, calories and exercise. I’m probably not the only one who wants to lose weight. I thought I’d share the chart for you to use too.

I made a pretty color chart, but I realize you may not want to waste all that printer ink. I made one in black and white also for gray-scale printing.

Record what you eat and the calories. Add them up at the end of the day. Cross off your eight 8 oz. glasses of water, and exercise. I’ve split the exercise up into four 15 minute increments to give some flexibility to the chart. Along with meals you can also track up three snacks: morning, afternoon and bedtime.

  1. This is such a great template! What an easy way to keep track of goals for this New Year!

  2. I will have to print this out also. I like that you added the water check offs. I do not like water, but I’m going to learn to love it this year. I need to start somewhere. Surfing the web for inspiration. Got a long road ahead of me this year.
