Girls Just Wanna Win Swag Giveaway: Glamorous Groceries
After a long holiday the Swag giveaway is finally back!
This week I’ve got something that will have you looking forward to your weekly trips to the market.
I love these beautiful cloth shopping bags from Glamorous Groceries.
Glamorous Groceries owner and designer Debbie says she uses home decor fabrics to make her high quality cloth shopping bags. That not only adds style, but durability as well. Debbie also makes fashionable baby accessories such as diaper bags and bibs, available by custom order.
I asked Debbie a few questions about designing and creating bags for Glamorous Groceries.
What inspired you to start designing shopping bags?
“I have been sewing for about 10 years. About 6 years ago I thought I would make a purse. All my friends liked it and so I began making more. I wanted to see if I could make them so they wouldn’t LOOK homemade. After a while I began having purse parties which was somewhat successful, but after making “one-of-a-kind” bags all the time it started getting to be too much. So I decided to keep it simple. Everyone seemed to be making purses so I looked at another type of demand and decided to focus entirely on shopping bags.”
What sets Glamorous Groceries shopping bags apart from the others out there?
“My bags are designed not only to withstand a lot of weight, they are attractive, which is why they are called Glamorous Groceries. I wanted them to be fun to carry around no matter what you are using them for. Other shopping bags I’ve seen are a bit plain or are not as durable. Glamorous Groceries get most of their strength from the lining, made of ripstop sport nylon and a thick stabilizer sewn into the bottom. The quality outweighs any bag I’ve seen at the price and from the type of manufacturing.”
What fuels your creativity?
“I can still create with shopping bags. I love to see what fabric will coordinate with another. When I get positive feedback from certain bags where I used more creativity than from another that really keeps me going.”

I love the Hot Pink Wwirls one you have shown, but I also like the Vintage Horse Tote.
I like both the yellow Hawaiian and the at the Coast bags. They made me think of the beach & on a day like today (36 degrees currently) I miss the beach!

This is so cute! I haven’t used cloth bags before, because I didn’t want one of those ugly green ones! My other favorite would have to be the polka stripes shopping bag. I love that it can even hold milk gallons, as that is usually what I’m running to the store for!!! I’ll be working on my extra entries too!

Irish Coffee is my favorite, but I really like the Black and White Fun Tote too.
All the totes are gorgeous as well as practical. I finally picked Yellow Hawaiian as my favorite since the black background would hide some of the inevitable soiling that happens when the reusable bag sits on the grocery store conveyor belt.
